The Beginning Knitting Series - A series of 4 modules that can take you from non-knitter to confident knitter ready for most common knitting projects. Making a sampler scarf allows you to master the knit and purl stitches, casting on (starting), binding off (ending), basic increases and decreases and pattern reading. Take one or all. Materials: 200yd worsted weight yarn and knitting needles size 8, 9, or 10.

Special Events
Yarn Dying Workshop - Here's a chance to learn how to make unique designer yarn using acid (vinegar) dyes. Put in just the colors YOU like and in your very own way! Achieve brighter, more consistent colors with more control than you can with Kool-Ade. We'll have the dyes and other equipment you need. A variety of un-dyed yarns from sock weight to worsted wool to luxury yarns are available for purchase or bring some white wool yarn from your stash.

The Beginning Crochet Series Ð Learn the basics of crochet Ð the foundation chain, single & double crochet, pattern reading, and more. Then create an easy scarf to help you practice your new skills. Materials: A size H crochet hook & 100g worsted yarn.

Intermediate Crochet - Once you have learned the basics, this class will take you to the next level. You will make a hat while learning how to increase & work circular construction similar to "Granny Squares". Materials: 100g worsted yarn & a size H crochet hook.

Second Steps - Second Steps is a series of 3 classes for the new knitter. Using a simple hat, these modules will expand your knowledge of casting on, increasing & decreasing, knitting in the round and simple color work.

Spin DR - Jill will be at Kiwi on the Saturday mornings listed below to teach beginners and those needing help to move to the next level alike. Lace Elements - Face your fear of lace! It is really just holes in your knitting. The beauty is in how you make those holes. In this class, you will make a swatch to start you reading lace charts and learning some basic lace patterns. If time permits, a simple knitted-on border will also be included. Materials: Bring a swatch of 38 sts and 4 rows of garter stitch.

Jeny's Suprisingly Stretchy BO - Toe-up sock knitters who struggle with bind-offs that are too tight, this class is for you!! Jeny Staiman is a genius and you will not want to miss this important part of Kiwi's Sock Summit! Materials: a sock ready for BO or another circular piece of knitting for learning.

Correcting Mistakes - Are you ripping it all out when the mistake is too noticeable to ignore? This IS a better way! Learn to recognize what is wrong, to decide what can be fixed more easily, and to pick the technique for doing so! Materials: a small sample, still on the needles with mistakes you would like to discuss; a size G crochet hook; a darning needle; & waist yarn.
